When you inquire about a dog, the following questions might be helpful:

1. Why are you giving up your dog?

2. Has the dog ever bitten, nipped or 'gone after' anyone?

3. Does it have any health problems? Who is your vet? May I contact him/her?

4. Where did you get the dog? Does it have papers?

5. Does your dog have any training? Is it housebroken? crate trained?

6. Is the dog left alone for long periods? What does it do? Bark? Dig? Chew? Is it an inside or outside dog? Where does it sleep?

7. How does the dog behave with adults, children? Other dogs? Cats?

8. Is your dog mellow? calm? energetic? protective? affectionate?

 

Abby has an extremely sweet personality. She is a happy and healthy dog. Her mom was a German Shepherd and her dad was a Border Collie but she has mainly a German Shepherd look. She has been trained and follows simple commands. She is licensed, vaccinated, and spayed. She loves people. I have never re-homed a dog before and this breaks my heart because she is such a good dog. We have an older small dog and she and Abby do not get along well. Abby is well socialized and goes to an off leash dog park often where she loves to play with other dogs and fetch tennis balls. I also jog with her often. She heels on a leash but is reactive (only when on a leash) to other dogs.
