German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California (GSRNC) regularly adopts dogs to residents of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties. We also consider, resources permitting, potential adopters in other Northern California counties.
Making Alliances for Change
GSRNC collaborates with low-cost or no-cost spay/neuter clinics to host affordable events, aiming to reduce the overpopulation of German Shepherd Dogs.

Finding German Shepherd Dogs permanent loving homes with qualified owners.
Assisting owners of German Shepherd Dogs who can no longer keep them to find them new homes.
Working cooperatively with animal shelters and other rescue groups in the community towards our common goals of saving dogs’ lives and reducing pet overpopulation.
Educating the public about the advantages of adopting dogs from shelters and rescue organizations, and about the need for spaying and neutering dogs.
Educating owners and prospective owners about the German Shepherd Dog breed traits including proper care and training.
