Foster Homes Urgently Needed    

Click on the Foster Info button for more info, OR click on the dog for info. If you can help, click here Application to send us your application. Then, email us here foster@gsrnc.org to let us know you're interested in fostering.

Not all of our rescue Shepherds are lucky enough to go directly into a foster home; some have to start in a kennel. Every rescue dog must be in a foster home before it can be adopted. In a foster home it will experience the love, care, and attention it needs and deserves while it is waiting to be adopted and we will observe the personality of the dog to help place it in the best possible forever home.

YOU can foster a German Shepherd Dog! Our network of rescue volunteers is there to help you with advice, and Rescue pays for the care of the dog including food and authorized veterinary expenses. Won't you consider fostering a German Shepherd who wants a second chance at a happy life? Fostering is a very rewarding experience, not only for you, but for the dogs too!

Archer

Archer M's Story:

Archer is a handsome boy, started out as a very terrified timid dog at the shelter, so much so that he was boarded with a trainer initially for a three week board and train to try and build his confidence. He blossomed in the training environment and did very well with his lessons and also with other dogs.

Archer likes nothing better than to run around and roam with his puppy friends, and then to return to his people for attention. He will need a home where he can continue to build his confidence and become part of the family that he was meant to have.

In his foster home, his personality has really come out, he is playful and affectionate, and loves attention. He plays well with other dogs, rides well in the car and will sleep all night in a crate.
